Our Grand Ballroom
A wedding reception at The Stissing House can be a truly elegant country affair. The meticulously preserved beauty of one of Dutchess County's oldest and arguably most entrancing ballrooms, a Stissing House reception is as unique as it is enchanting.
As your guests enter, they are taken on a swift journey back in time to the late 18th century. Original detail and aged hardwood floors create a character impossible to replicate. A staircase leads your wedding party to The Stissing House's grand ballroom, one of the last remaining grand rooms of its kind. Adjacent to it, is your private bar where hors d' oeuvres can be served and, of course, your dance floor.
Patricia Jean will personally guide you through the many choices of linens, table settings, flowers, seating arrangements, service styles and menu selections to create the perfect affair. Please call to arrange a private tour and tasting.
Private Salons
In addition to the “Tavern” and “Grand Ballroom”, Stissing House is comprised of a series of cozy dining rooms that can be reserved for private parties from 10-60 people. Each preserving the traditional décor of Stissing’s origins. We can arrange for a special meal or have your guests select form the French-American Tavern’s fare.

With its two century old tavern, private dining nooks and grand upstairs room outfitted with sound system and fully stocked private bar, The Stissing House is the perfect setting for your next board meeting. client conference, intimate gathering or full-scale four course dinner affair.
Since 1782, The Stissing House has been host to United States Presidents, local politicians and company staff meetings for business owners and corporations throughout New York and New England. The Stissing House event staff strives to make every event unique and meticulously attended to from beginning to end.
